Hot Beverages

Hot beverages have been a cherished as part of my daily routine, I enjoy having a hot beverage on my patio after a long day of work or when watching one of my favorite 90’s movies, it offers warmth, comfort, peace and a touch of indulgence. Whether it’s the aroma of freshly brewed coffee, the soothing embrace of herbal tea, or the rich decadence of hot chocolate, these drinks provide moments of relaxation and reflection. From traditional chai in India to matcha in Japan, every region boasts its unique take on these liquid delights, making them a universal yet deeply personal experience.

When I brew my tea blends, I normally use a whistling kettle reason for this, is because of the whistling sound and the wonderful aromas. Which brings back memories for leaving with my mother in the county side. Here are some of my favorites. Enjoy!!!

Herbal Teas are a natural remedy for your body and mind, because they are aromatic and flavorful, herbal teas have been cherished for centuries for their potential health benefits and soothing properties. Derived from various plants, leaves, flowers, and roots, these caffeine-free beverages offer a natural way to promote well-being.

The Benefits of Sipping Herbal Tea:

  • Stress Relief: Teas like chamomile, lavender, and passionflower are renowned for their calming effects, helping to reduce anxiety and promote relaxation.
  • Digestive Support: Peppermint and ginger tea can soothe upset stomachs, while fennel tea can aid digestion.
  • Immune Boost: Herbal teas containing ingredients like echinacea, elderberry, turmeric and ginger may help strengthen the immune system.

Some of my favorite Herbal Tea blends are Chamomile, Turmeric, Lavander, Hibiscus, Ginger and Peppermint. The memories of growing up in the countryside everything was right in the family kitchen garden, just a few steps away.

Chamomile is a flowering plant belonging to the Asteraceae family, known for its daisy-like appearance and delicate aroma. It has a long history of use as a medicinal herb, dating back to ancient civilizations like the Egyptians, Greeks, and Romans. There are two main types of chamomile:  German Chamomile ( Matricaria recutita): This is the most commonly used type, known for its strong, slightly apple-like scent. Roman Chamomile (Chamaemelum nobile): This type has a milder, sweeter aroma.

Chamomile is known for its calming and soothing properties. It is also used in various other forms, such as essential oils, supplements, and topical creams.
